Working Together to Stop the Spread of Invasive Plants in BC
Help us preserve the natural beauty of British Columbia from the threat of invasive plants. Join a growing community of people who care about protecting BC's thriving ecosystems; creating sustainable communities; and enabling boundless recreational opportunities.

This is the vision of the Invasive Plant Council of British Columbia, a collaborative alliance of technical specialists working for government and industry, weed committee coordinators, First Nations representatives, foresters, forest technologists, biologists, ranchers, horticulturists, recreation enthusiasts, gardeners, and other concerned individuals.

You can make a difference today! Invasive plants are non-native, establish quickly, and pose negative impacts to the environment, economy, and society. Your donation will support an IPCBC initiative or educational event, and help to minimize the spread of invasive plants in British Columbia.

Invasive Plant Council programs and educational events are happening near you!
The IPCBC coordinates, in collaboration with regional committees and other partners, programs and educational events in communities across the province that involve youth, First Nations, and a wide diversity of community groups and concerned individuals.

Your donation will support activities that help to:
  • increase public awareness of invasive plants through outreach materials and publications (ie. brochures; targeted invasive plant solutions (T.I.P.S.) for specific invasive plants and industry practices; ebulletins, technical reports; plant identification cards, etc.)
  • identify and promote coordinated research on invasive plant management (ie. help to keep the Research Database current)
  • secure long-term, stable funding for invasive plant management and the work of regional weed committees;
  • improve current legislation on invasive species; and
  • build linkages among current invasive plant inventories and databases.

Becoming a member is easy! Simply fill out the Memorandum of Support and fax it to the IPCBC office. There are no fees or obligations. Members enjoy bi-monthly ebulletins through a listserv. These bulletins provide information on new research, interesting articles, regional and provincial events, employment opportunities in invasive plant management, and an update on Invasive Plant Council projects. Join over 300 organizations and almost 1000 individuals today!
